Receive a report from a UK consultant dermatologist within 48 hours of your
clinic appointment.
Private dermatology appointments generally range from £175-£300 and getting to
see a GP takes time and often results in a referral to a specialist. The waiting time
from start to finish for many patients can be weeks and for some patients this is an
anxious wait – which is avoidable.
As a recognised Map My Mole provider, Gwen Adey BDS MFDS RCS can access
UK consultant dermatologists for an opinion on your mole or skin lesion within 48
hours. The fee is £100 for up to 3 moles or skin lesions.
How does it work?
1. You will be asked some questions about your skin and your mole
2. Gwen will take a series of images of your skin, including some images using a
special lens called a dermatoscope.
3. A consultant dermatologist at Map My Mole will review your answers and
images. You will receive a report by email, containing their findings and
advice on what steps to take next.
What happens if the report finds a suspicious mole or lesion?
If a consultant thinks the mole or lesion is of concern, they will ask you to contact
your GP or a dermatologist. Most GPs will take the action recommended without
needing to see you first. All of the Map My Mole consultants also work in the NHS
and are on the General Medical Council register of Dermatology Specialists, so GPs
know they are very experienced.
