Nick graduated from Cardiff University in 2005 with a mental health nursing degree. He has worked for over a decade in forensic mental health care as part of a clinical team carrying out mental health assessments and providing treatment for those who had been unfortunate to experience severe and complex trauma. This stimulated further interest in learning new skills to help people gain confidence to overcome the difficulties they were experiencing due to their past.
To improve my ability to help others I returned to the University at Cardiff and gained a post graduate certificate and diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). This has given me the opportunity to enable those I work with to understand their problems using CBT theory and develop a formulation so they can become their own therapist.
Currently I am using the CBT evidence based skills and applications to help people experiencing Depression and Anxiety Based Disorders, including Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
